St Paul’s Church, Lorrimore Square, Friday 9th May at 7.30pm
Masterworks present: The Trout Quintet
The Masterworkers believe that enjoying classical music shouldn’t require you to dress in your Sunday best, sit still for hours at a time, read hundreds of books about Messiaen and Mozart, or travel to central London
In this eclectic and family-friendly concert you’ll hear pieces by Piazzolla, Schumann, JS Bach, Handel-Halvorsen and Joëlle Léandre, as well as the 2nd live UK performance of “The Day We Were Butterflies in the Physic Garden” by Simon Pearson in between the five movements of Schubert’s Trout Quintet, a piece made famous by ring tones and washing machines the world over.
Performed by professional musicians from London’s top orchestras and introduced with tongue-in-cheek wit, the Masterworkers latest programme will appeal to seasoned concert-goers and the classical-curious alike.
