What is Diocesan Synod?
Diocesan Synod is a governance body made up of elected representatives from
across our diocese. It’s responsible for holding our vision and mission and strategy
and elects people to boards and committees,
It directs the National Church on matters of public and Government policy and plays a crucial role in scrutinising our Diocesan budget.
The membership consists of three Houses: Bishops, Clergy and Laity – which all come
together to lead our Diocese and serve the people of God.
Vision
Our Southwark vision from now to 2035 is to:
Maintain our clergy and increase our lay ministers
Value all our parishes
Grow our churches and worshiping communities
Become younger and more diverse
Deepen our discipleship and seek Gods healing in the world
